Stillwater collects minimal data and stores everything locally on your device.

We do not:

• Create user accounts or require sign-in
• Collect personal information like names, emails, or phone numbers
• Track your location
• Share any data with third parties
• Use analytics or tracking services
• Store any of your data on our servers

The following data is stored locally on your device to provide the app experience:

• Session history: Records of your meditation sessions, including duration and completion status
• Stillness minutes: Your accumulated stillness time
• Streak data: Your daily practice streak information
• Achievements: Unlocked achievements and rare event sightings
• App preferences: Your settings like audio preferences and accessibility options

This data never leaves your device unless you choose to back it up through iCloud, which is managed by Apple according to their privacy policies.

Stillwater uses your device's motion sensors (accelerometer) to detect physical stillness during meditation sessions. This sensor data is:

• Processed entirely on your device
• Used only during active meditation sessions
• Not stored or recorded
• Never transmitted anywhere

When you start a session, Stillwater can integrate with iOS Focus modes and Shortcuts to help silence distractions. This integration:

• Is entirely optional and user-controlled
• Uses Apple's built-in Focus and Shortcuts frameworks
• Does not access your notification content
• Does not read or store any notification data

Stillwater does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third-party service involved is the Apple App Store for distribution, which operates under Apple's privacy policy.

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it:

• Deleting the app removes all locally stored data
• You can reset your progress within the app settings
• iCloud backups can be managed through your iOS settings

Stillwater is designed for users of all ages and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since no data is collected or transmitted, there are no special provisions needed for children's data.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
